Earlier this year, a new project was launched to showcase local art and photography on the light pole banners lining Granby's Main Street. The initiative started with illustrations by local artist Michaela Cross, and as fall approaches, a new series is now on display. This latest collection, featuring the photography of Jay Stewart, celebrates Granby's ranching, rodeo, and agricultural roots. The banners capture iconic scenes, from rodeo competitors in action to cattle grazing and a cowgirl on horseback carrying the American flag.
“Jay Stewart’s photography beautifully captures the spirit of Granby and our strong ties to ranching and rodeo,” said Sarah Cichon, Executive Director. “This project is about more than just beautifying our Main Street; it's about sharing the story of who we are and what makes our community so special.”

About the Photographer: Jay Stewart
A well-known Grand County photographer, Jay Stewart specializes in documentary-style work that includes landscapes, nature, action sports, portraits, and weddings.
“I’m always looking to capture the things we see every day in a new light,” Stewart explained. “When you take a moment to stop and look, you realize how magical this place is. My goal is to capture that magic—the stories, the landscapes, and the people who call Grand County home.”
Stewart's work is widely featured throughout Grand County. He recently collaborated with Destination Granby on the "Independent Campaign," which showcased Granby businesses and attractions like Sisu Farms, the Moffat Road Railroad Museum, and Wheatley Creek Services.
Named the "Best of Grand Photographer" for the past three years in a row, Stewart is once again a contender in the 2025 contest taking place this fall.
