Skiing & Snowboarding

Your winter adventure starts in Granby! With more than 250 days of sunshine each year, bluebird days and an unforgettable ski adventure await.

GRANBY RANCH

Just 3 miles from downtown, Granby Ranch features nearly 1,000 feet of vertical and 900 acres of skiable terrain for all ability levels. Designed and operated with families in mind, Granby Ranch is widely regarded as one of the best areas in Colorado to learn to ski or ride with their acres of beginner slopes. They have free parking just steps from the chairlifts, as well as full-service gear rentals and ski and ride lessons to complete your experience.

The ski resort features two mountains and 41 snowy trails that can be accessed via the resort’s five chairlifts. The East Mountain is perfect for beginners and intermediates and is accessed by two high speed quad chairlifts. Granby Ranch’s West Mountain appeals to the advanced skier or snowboarder where all adventures start on the Conquest chairlift. The best part is, all trails lead back to the base area, so family and friends can easily meet back at the same place. In addition to downhill skiing, they also have miles of groomed Nordic and snowshoeing trails.

Looking to try some fun, new experiences? Snowga—yes, yoga in the snow—will get you ready for your day out on the mountain. Warm up and start your day peacefully and connected to the Rocky Mountains during this 30-minute class with panoramic views of the Continental Divide. For a nighttime adventure, experience Granby Ranch under the stars. Their night ski evenings are the perfect way to see the area in a whole new light. Ski or ride under on their lit runs on East Mountain and warm up afterward with a hot cocoa or a cocktail with your family at the firepit.

WINTER PARK RESORT

Winter Park Resort, one of Colorado’s premier ski resorts, is a short 25 minute drive from Granby. Groomers, glades, trees, steeps, bumps, powder stashes, they have it all. With more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, 3,000 feet of vertical rise, and seven distinct territories designed for every skill level, they’re sure to have any kind of trail you’re searching for.

BLUEBIRD BACKCOUNTRY

Want to try your hand at backcountry skiing? Bluebird Backcountry is a one hour drive from Granby and is the ideal place to learn about backcountry skiing. Guests use backcountry touring equipment to hike and skin uphill—they don’t have any chairlifts—before transitioning to ski or snowboard back down. If you want a safe area to try backcountry skiing, this is the place for you.

Who says the fun (and skiing) has to stop when the sun goes down? Granby Ranch offers multiple evenings of skiing at night under several well-lit runs on the East Mountain.

Do you dream of carving turns through fresh, untracked snow without having to wait in a lift line? Then backcountry skiing and snowboarding is what you’re looking for. Granby provides wonderful access to winter outdoor recreation opportunities in our surrounding mountain areas.
