Annual Events
No matter when you visit, there are plenty of events taking place in Granby. In July, you'll be treated to days of events with an authentic small-town feel during the annual 4th of July celebration. Take part in the family bike parade or 5K fun run, and be sure to enjoy the rodeo, fireworks, and an exciting 4th of July parade.
For some authentic Western fun, you can’t beat a night at the rodeo! Every summer, Granby holds a rodeo at the Flying Heels Arena, which includes a Junior rodeo in the afternoon and an open rodeo later in the evening. During the events, you can watch bull riding, bull roping, and barrel racing while sampling tasty concessions and beverages. There are also games for the kids, including a mutton-busting competition.
Be sure to stop by Music & Market for live music and market vendors. Wander through the stalls and choose from an assortment of fresh eggs, meats, honey, and homemade crafts.
One of the biggest winter events is the 3 Lakes Ice Fishing Contest, a three-day contest in which participants ice fish on beautiful Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Reservoir, and Grand Lake. You can enter for a single day, two days, or the full three days and compete for thousands in cash and other prizes.
Granby also hosts several holiday events, most notably the Annual Tree Lighting each holiday season. If you’re looking for the perfect gift, make some time to go shopping. Granby is home to several charming boutiques and stores and there’s no better time to explore them than during the holidays.
