Scenic drives are a great way to take in the full beauty of a Colorado summer. Get the latest on conditions, grab your roadmaps, and follow the bends in the Colorado River Headwaters Scenic Byway. Drive Cottonwood Pass or Ute Pass, or the cliff-hugging Trail Ridge Road, where you might spy bighorn sheep and elk.

Weather can change fast in the mountains, so plan to keep an eye on the forecast before and during your visit.

Daytime highs in the sixties are common in Granby in the early summer. Temperatures tend to warm up into the seventies as the season progresses. Nights are quite chilly, though, so bring your warm layers! Rain isn’t unheard of this time of year, so throw in a rain jacket and a book for the fireside, too.  

If you’re heading into Rocky Mountain National Park, the visitors center and backcountry office are important resources for the latest on weather and road conditions.
