2024 ART IN THE PARK ARTIST PROFILE
Dylan Barber
"Windows to the Past" Artwork
Dancing under the moonlight and howling with the coyotes, watching a bald eagle soar above light and free, witnessing the glimmer of a trout reflect the face of the stars through crystalline water; this is the energy I hope to convey and capture in this piece.
The mountains of Colorado are my home. The connection between the creatures who ride the strong waves of life rolling through these valleys is deep and spiritual. We must protect this natural beauty if we wish future generations to experience it.
These mountains support great life, and that life has a cost. To be connected to it is to feel it in all its awe and mighty glory, and realize that we are small in all of it.
To tell the story of this land we must represent its spirit and the people who came before. What a lucky thing we get to experience, witnessing these wonders. By showing gratitude for it, we become more deeply connected to it.
Artist Statement
My name is Dylan. I’m a 27 year old artist, student, and business owner dedicated to using creativity as a means to expand possibilities and reduce limitations.
My work explores the idea of balance (or a lack thereof) within oneself and with the world one engages with. All of my pieces showcase energy, in myriad forms, weaved into expressive stories.
I believe through creativity anything is possible. I strive to show others its great power, hoping that we may all become liberated through the connection it brings.
