If you are headed to Granby for spring break this year, here’s our list of top activity ideas for your trip.

  1. Ski or Snowboard at Granby Ranch

Spend the day on the slopes at Granby Ranch! Make sure to check the Events Calendar for additional activities including live music, night skiing, apres-ski and snowga (yoga on the snow).

  2. Ice Fish on Lake Granby

As one of the largest reservoirs in Colorado, Lake Granby is a top spot for ice fishing, and home to some of the best trophy trout fishing in the state. If you’re new to the sport, head out with local experts Fishing with Bernie or Granby Bait N Tackle for a guided trip.

  3. Go on a Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride

Break out those mittens, pull on that cozy sweater, and get ready to embark on a whimsical winter sleigh ride with Rocky Mountain Stables. Glide past snow-frosted pines and scenic mountain vistas, all ending at a crackling bonfire complete with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.

  4. Head to the Tubing Hill

Feel the rush of the wind on your face as you zoom down the mountain on the tubing hill at Snow Mountain Ranch. In addition, in the nearby town of Fraser, additional tubing can be found at Colorado Adventure Park and the Fraser Tubing Hill.

  5. Go Snowshoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park

When Rocky Mountain National Park is covered with a blanket of snow, the crowds have left and the places you know during the summer look dramatically different.

  6. Visit Downtown Granby

Start your day with a comforting breakfast or brunch at one of Granby’s many cafes including Fat Cat Café, Fitch Ranch Café, Java Lava Café and Mid Town Café. Walk down Main Street to check out the many murals throughout town, shop at The Bowerbird’s Den, Country Ace Hardware, Two Pines Supply or Grand Mountain Trading Company. End your evening with a hearty meal out at one of Granby’s many restaurants.

  7. Enjoy the Outdoors through Cross Country Skiing

The Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center offers some of the best nordic skiing in the country with 120K of world-class terrain meandering through pine forest, wide meadows and along Pole Creek.

  8. Soak at Hot Sulphur Springs

The cooler temperatures of fall are ideal for relaxing in the soothing waters at Hot Sulphur Spring Resort just 11 miles from Granby. Enjoy 22 pools and private baths plus day spa services.

  9. Throw an Axe

Looking for an indoor option? Try axe throwing (ages 10+) at Troublesome Tomahawks.

  10. Go Ice Skating

Strap on some skates and glide across the ice rink at Snow Mountain Ranch, or down the road at the Icebox Ice Rink in Fraser.
