Trish Bellefeuille
A woman, born of fire and Ice. I survived the great perils that life has thrown my way. I trudged through the darkness, screamed with raging winds, swam through rivers of lava, and walked peacefully along the valley of clouds. And I am not done. I am driven by empathy, bold in my life choices, compassionate, willful, spirited and going through life like a cannonball run.
I am a woman of untold magical powers, wielding a mighty paintbrush to create, evoke and give feeling to the words I cannot speak.
My ART is my heart of hearts.
I chose a Raven because it is a highly intelligent bird, often representing death, but I feel that they are the messengers of the divine, with knowledge and transformation. My time clock represents death and the Raven in white symbolizes the divine or message from the other side.

Wendy Mulberry Carmichael
Local Granby artist whose inspiration comes from nature and its vast array of colors, textures, and magic. As a self-taught artist I’ve enjoyed this creative outlet since childhood. May your senses be warmed!
Bring to life a 4’ x 8’ Bird shaped canvas in 17 hours! I graciously accept the 2025 Art In The Park challenge. Using vivid acrylic paints, I will combine several birds of our local region into one. The title of mural is “Avifauna”.
Through art I am able to embrace my individuality and like a bird, sing my own unique song.
Thank you for attending this wonderful event.

Haylie Gardner
My name is Haylie Gardner, and I am a self-taught artist born and raised in Iowa. I started my love for the arts at a young age with a passion for painting and playing instruments. I mainly worked with acrylic paints. I combined my love for animals and painting by selling custom pet portraits throughout high school. I moved to Colorado in 2023 with my lovely husband, and that’s when I found my love for oil painting. I feel most inspired by my love for animals, nature, and bright colors. If I ever feel stuck with my art I like to go outside and sit in the grass, where I can look at little bugs, flowers, and plants to get the creative juices flowing again. I work part-time as a cat groomer and sell my paintings, mainly pet portraits, on the side. I hope to one day fully commit to my passion of making art and become a full-time artist.
This painting is inspired by all the little creatures with little souls that work hard to keep our ecosystem running. Nothing grows in isolation, even flowers and plants need help to thrive. Over 75% of flowering plants, including food crops, depend on animal pollination. Bees, beetles, birds, snails, bats, and butterflies are just a few examples of the creatures that help pollinate. I want this painting to show the beauty of these creatures that many people deem “ugly” or “scary”. Support your local pollinators so they can support you!

Megan Harris
Art has always been an integral part of my life—as both a personal passion and a way to connect with others. As a special education teacher with a minor in studio art, I bring creativity into my classroom and beyond, finding joy in both teaching and creating. Over the past 11 years, I’ve participated in the Denver Chalk Art Festival, where I proudly placed 3rd one year, and earned 1st place in the Littleton Chalk Walk. I’ve also taught chalk art classes to elementary and high school students, encouraging young artists to explore their own creativity.
This current collection of birds was designed by me as a celebration of movement, color, and the vibrant life found in nature. Each bird reflects a unique personality and presence, and together they form a joyful tribute to the natural beauty I often find inspiration in.
While I continue working in chalk, watercolor, oil, and acrylic, I’m currently expanding my artistic practice into mural work and seeking new opportunities through art festivals and sales. I’m passionate about growing as an artist while continuing to use creativity as a bridge between education, expression, and community.

Monica McFarlin
I am a self-taught artist who paints with a playful heart and a curious mind. My work is often described as whimsical, colorful, and a little bit otherworldly. I draw inspiration from dreams, childhood nostalgia, and the quiet magic in everyday moments. Through a whimsical lens, I explore this duality with vibrant color, surreal compositions, and a touch of dark humor.
My creative process is intuitive and experimental. With no formal training, I let instinct lead the brush, allowing each piece to evolve organically. I embrace the unexpected, paint drips, odd juxtapositions, and strange little details that breathe character into the canvas.
I believe art can be both light and shadow, playful and profound. My goal is to invite the viewer into a world where the macabre can be magical, and even a skull can sing.
Without formal training, my process is intuitive and experimental. I embrace imperfections, happy accidents, and the freedom that comes with learning through doing. Each piece I create is a story in color sometimes joyful, sometimes bittersweet, but always infused with wonder.
Art is how I make sense of the world, and how I invite others to see it a little differently.

If art is going to be your path, it can be a scary one to tread. Perhaps an uphill climb, but when you truly love & have passion for something there is no other way but to try your hardest and live your dream.
Dream on & dream big!

Rebecca Smyth
I am a lifelong artist, a stay-at-home mom, and a real estate agent. After putting my creative passions on pause to focus on family and career, I am now intentionally reconnecting with art as a way to express myself and share the places and images that mean the most to me.
This piece symbolizes that reconnection — both to art and to nature — and represents my journey in reigniting the artist within. Also teaching my son to do what he loves and never give up.

Emily M. Weil
I grew up with a pencil in my hand and in my young adult years dove into the world of watercolors. About 17 years ago, with the urging of an art teacher/mentor, I took up acrylics, which will be the medium I use for the Art in the Park project.
I recently moved to Colorado (Grand Lake), from California, to give myself a break from years of death and grief and sad family stories and loss (yes, I ran away from home). I was smitten from day one, and am eager to join the thriving community of artists here in this amazing area.

My concept for this artwork is drawn from my culture from Mexico: Zaptotec and Oaxaca. I created a vibrant mix of two animals, a bird and a butterfly. In Oaxaca, these are called Alebrijes. I will put some personal symbols on top of the color patterns, and wasn't able to fit them in this small mock-up. I plan on using Chroma Acrylic paints.
I have painted other cutouts for display in Monte Vista, Colorado for their Crane Festival and I thought I'd be a good fit with this event, too.
