2024 ART IN THE PARK ARTIST PROFILE

Monica McFarlin

Monica M"Windows to the Past" Artwork

For this year’s Art in the Park theme of “Windows to the Past”, Native American history is what immediately jumped into my brain. The piece is like a dream of the past with a blue elk looking at the viewer and a dream catcher hanging from above. A dreamscape with cool colors being the palette of the mountains, clouds, and trees in the background.

Artist Statement

Monica was born and raised on the southeastern plains of Colorado. Currently she resides with her family in Granby, CO and is a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Middle Park High School. Creativity was always valued and embraced in her upbringing, as both of her parents are also creators and artists. Monica’s art can be described as vibrant, whimsical, and surrealistic interpretations of nature and its subjects.
